You Heard It, You Cant Un-Hear It. (Well, we hope you heard it.)

As some of you may have heard, the Thursday Knights made their first attempt at a real podcast. We took a bunch of equipment over to Justin's last Thursday and recorded an hour of our incessant ramblings and cut it down to a 15 minute show for your listening pleasure. Let me tell you, this was no easy feat. For a first attempt, we are rather pleased with the result. However, we hope that this week’s podcast will go much more smoothly, bringing down the edit time exponentially in the process.

The following items are things we learned that may help others out there who want to try podcasting themselves.

  • 5 people + 4 mics = problem.

  • 3 minutes is about the longest people can stand the "helium voice" pitch bend.

  • Make sure all the mics are set at the same level and everyone is talking at the same volume.

  • When you have 5 people trying to do a podcast, have a moderator. It makes it really hard to edit when everyone is talking over each other.

  • Try to keep your topics on track. Finishing a story makes for a better podcast.

  • Don't stay up 'til 6:30 AM on Mother's Day editing your podcast when you have to be somewhere at Noon.

We were really hoping to get more comments and suggestions for the podcast. Please feel free to send us ideas of what you would like to hear (or not hear) and let us know what we can do to make Thursday Knight Noise better.

And if you haven't heard the podcast yet check out the previous posts and give it a listen. We'd like to hear from you about what you liked, what you didn't and what you'd like us to add to the podcast.

I want to hear more about that "un-hear" option you mentioned earlier. Will that be a feature in podcast 2.0?

If you follow the directions below we've found it is the best way to "un-hear" the podcast.

1. Get a power drill
2. Plug in power drill
3. Stick power drill in ear (either one, doesn't matter)
4. While applying pressure to the drill, pull trigger.
5. Keep applying pressure until you can't remember the podcast anymore. (This may take a few minutes.)

Kids before you try this at home, ask your parents for help. Power tools are not toys.

Hope that helps.
