This American Life is an excellent radio show and a pretty damn good television show on the Showtime network, it examines life. Often with the unnerving talent of presenting the human condition from an outsider's perspective. Needless to say, I love it.

This is what Reality TV should be, real, actual and not sensationalised

And I know that we all got Showtime when they announced that TAL (note: the kids call This American Life, TAL for short) was doing a TV show. And I know we all downloaded the episodes off the torrents right after it was on TV. And I know we all bought the DVD exclusively from Borders books when it was released...

Well now we can go see Ira, live! (tape delayed due to how far it is from Chicago to Orange County) so not 'live' so much as fresh frozen.

The offer for sale of a charred block of cheese from the site of the Icepak Coolstores fire has been condemned as immoral and disturbing. (Editor's note - people died)

Icepak Group owner ... said he would be upset to find that someone had stolen the cheese, because Icepak acted as a bailee for the product and did not own it.
"It is totally unacceptable, illegal, totally immoral and all those other things."

The seller of the cheese on Trade Me ... said ... he had received permission to take the cheese for the purpose of raising funds for the Fire Service.

While workers from Mexico draw the ire and fiery rhetoric of anti-immigration forces, there was no outrage or concern when the English-speaking soccer hero brought his family and curling free kicks to America.

"I think we should welcome all peaceful people to our country,” says Drew Carey. "They get to the pursue the 'American Dream' and we get to benefit from all the wonderful things that immigrants bring to our country—like good old fashioned soccer. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me."
